What’s a quick Access toolbar?

Is a customizable toolbar located above the Ribbon. It provides quick access to frequently used commands and functions, allowing you to perform tasks more efficiently without navigating through various tabs and menus. By placing your favorite tools on the Quick Access Toolbar, you can streamline your workflow and enhance productivity. Whether you’re formatting cells, applying specific functions, or saving your work, the Quick Access Toolbar ensures that essential commands are just a click away, making your Excel experience smoother and more convenient.

How can we customize our own shortcuts? 

File → Options → Quick Access Toolbar

1.  Select File from the upper left section.

3. Click the Quick Assess Toolbar

4. Choose options from the right section and click “Add” to add it to your toolbar.

Use the add and Remove buttons to move items between the customize access toolbar list and choose a command from the list

Choose and Add Commands:
  • In the “Excel Options” dialog box that opens, you’ll see two columns: “Choose commands from” (on the left) and “Customize Quick Access Toolbar” (on the right).
  • The left column lists all available commands that you can add to the Quick Access Toolbar.
  • The right column shows the commands already on your Quick Access Toolbar.

Rearrange Commands:
  • Select the command you want to add from the left column.
  • Click the “Add > >” button to add it to your Quick Access Toolbar on the right.
Remove Commands:
  • You can change the order of commands on the Quick Access Toolbar by selecting a command on the right and using the up and down arrows to move it.
  • If you want to remove a command from the Quick Access Toolbar, select it in the right column and click the ” < < Remove” button.

♦ The order of the Quick Access Toolbar will be Alt 1, Alt 2 from the right. 

You can customize your own shortcuts for frequently used tools using Alt 1 to Alt 9.

Your customized shortcuts will now appear in the Quick Access Toolbar, ready for you to use. This personalized setup can save you time and effort by having your most frequently used tools readily available.

More ways to access Option

  • Look at the upper-left corner of the Excel window, just above the Ribbon. You’ll see a small dropdown arrow.
  • Click on the dropdown arrow to open the menu, and then select “More Commands.”
